A Spirited Saturday at the English Whisky Festival

Last Saturday, we had the pleasure of attending the English Whisky Festival, a celebration of craftsmanship, creativity, and camaraderie in the heart of the burgeoning English whisky scene. Held in a vibrant venue buzzing with enthusiasts and industry insiders, the event showcased the incredible diversity and quality of whiskies being produced across the country.

The festival was a fantastic opportunity to connect with other distillers, share stories, and, of course, sample some extraordinary whiskies. From bold, peated expressions to delicate and fruity profiles, the sheer range of flavours on offer was truly inspiring. It was heartening to see so many people—both seasoned connoisseurs and curious newcomers—embracing the craft and passion behind English whisky.

As representatives of Witchmark, we were proud to share our story and our unique approach to whisky-making, including our commitment to crafting premium spirits from our own malted barley base. The feedback we received was incredibly encouraging, and we left feeling more energized than ever about the journey ahead.

Highlights of the day included engaging masterclasses, fascinating conversations with distillers pushing the boundaries of tradition, and a palpable sense of excitement about the future of English whisky. It’s clear that this young industry is growing not only in scale but in recognition, with producers earning respect on the global stage.

We’re already looking forward to next year’s festival, where we hope to present more of our maturing spirits alongside our recently launched gins.
